The Oklahoma City Anthropologie has finally opened! I finally went today and the crowd wasn't all that bad. I knew opening day would be nuts and my patience for crowds isn't what it used to be. The store is beautiful. I knew it would be but, it surpassed my expectations. Good ol' OKC is starting to feel like a real "big" city. Makes me smile.

This Is Where I Leave You

By now, most of you know or are wondering how my 2011 Book Challenge turned out. Two words. Utter failure. I wish I could blame it on the horrendous 7 week bout of morning sickness I was battling, but lets face it, I was on the road to bombing this challenge long before I was with child. I choose to focus on the positive......which is, I finished two books. Only one of which I had set out to read from the start. The second book just sort of happened. I had been recommended This Is Where I Leave You by a good friend almost two years ago. She was even kind enough to loan me her copy to read. After keeping it FOREVER, I returned it to her unread. Luckily, I had scored myself a paperback copy at the annual book sale for a quarter. There it sat on our bookshelf untouched until this last November. My father has become a reading machine and has been plowing through books faster than he can find something else to read. So, I gave him a few books and this just happened to be one he borrowed. He loved it. Laughed out loud at parts. Then my mom read it. Even purchased it as a birthday gift for someone. So, I starting reading it at Thanksgiving and I loved it. It is just my humor. Miss Marina Star you need to read this book. You won't be sorry. I know I owe you about five reads of recommended books at this point, but you will love this book.

That's my niece, Delilah. Isn't she is most beautiful baby you've ever seen? She will be two months old in a few days. I intended to blog about her arrival much sooner, but wanted to wait until Zach got her post up on his blog. I adore her, to say the least. She is amazing and I am so happy I get to see her on a pretty consistent basis. She has been a complete blessing to our family. We took her newborn pictures and had such a good time. I realize I have been rather absent from the world of blogging as of recent. Let me explain. It's because I am addicted to Pinterest. I literally cannot stop pinning......which has left me no extra time to blog. Pretty lame, I know. My husband pointed this out to me yesterday. I am too busy "pinning" and haven't really blogged much. Usually my absence it due to lack of inspiration or subject matter. Not this time. I guess he noticed because his RSS feed is filled with yummy dinner ideas and cute outfits, rather than my usual blog posts. It is just such a great site. A catalog of all the cool things I've seen online and can't ever seem to relocate. Recipes, links to blogs and DIY projects I want to try my hand at. No more bookmarking! Genius, I say!

Onions & Vacation

Hi. I'm back. But only for a quick post before I am off to Vegas for some R&R with a girlfriend. I have been absent and downright neglectful of my little corner of the world wide web. LOTS to catch up on when I return. But for now......

Z and I attended the soft launch of Tucker's Onions Burgers tonight and..........I ate my very first onion burger. That's right, I ate something packed full of the thing I detest the most. Check out my bio, its right there "I don't like onions." But, you can't very well go into an establishment that has "onion" in their name and ask them to leave off the onions. I made my mind up on the drive over I was going to just go for it and try one. Lets face it, know one wants to be "that person" who special orders their onion burger minus the onions. I am happy to report the burger was awesome. I have made my husband so proud. Oh, and the Strawberry Limeaide was divine.

The Challenge: An Update

Some of you may remember this post from way back in January. Here's my attempt at a very underwhelming update. First, publicly decreeing my plan to read 5 books in 2011 didn't make me magically start reading more. It did the opposite and actually made me want to read less. I am failing miserably at my book goal. Disappointing but honest.

With this being said, I did finish my first of five books.
Yup, one whole book. And I loved it.

Maybe it was the fact that I forced myself to finish the book before the movie comes out on August 10. Regardless, I loved it and can now partake in all the conversations surrounding this book. I am really looking forward to seeing who they select to portray these women on the big screen. 1 down, 4 to go.

A coworker sent me this link and said I should try this out. Here's the skinny....and yes, I am painfully aware of how behind the curve I am on this one.

Uniform Project™ started in 2009 when a young woman realized she was drowning in the uninspired doldrums of an advertising career. Creatively and ethically drained by the corporate world, she came up with an unusual creative challenge; to wear the same dress for an entire year–but, and this is where the real challenge came in, she’d have to make it look unique every single day. She also vowed to make the challenge more meaningful by turning it into a fundraiser to send less fortunate kids to school.

Although, I don't think this is something I have the time/creativity/energy for, I am moved at the creativity and passion this woman has. She took something she loves and turned it into something that brought a lot of happiness and good to less fortunate people. I thought about this all day. The goodness in people. It sounds corny but in a world where you don't hear a lot of "good" in the news, it's really refreshing and inspiring to hear about people like this who are making a difference in others lives and don't want anything in return.

I love dresses. In the summer it is basically all I wear. I await the arrive of "acceptable" dress wearing weather like most kids anticipate the last day of school or the first day the pool is open. About 4 years ago, a co-worker dared me to wear a dress everyday for an entire month (weekends excluded) without purchasing anything new. Killed it. Wore a different dress for 4 work weeks and had two dresses to spare. Granted, I didn't love every selection, but that is beside the point. Every woman has a signature piece of clothing they like. A particular style they wear with confidence. I feel good in a dress. Always have. Growing up my grandmother would make me an Easter and a Christmas dress every year. I would be so excited in the weeks leading up to the arrival of the "dress package." I vividly remember the year she made me a beautiful red velvet dress for Christmas and made a matching dress for my Cabbage Patch. Most all of the dresses are still hanging in my closet at my parents house in Stillwater. They are so special and I don't think my mom or I either have the heart to part with them. My childhood love of a good dress has never faded. In fact, when Anthropologie sends me an email saying they have just freshly cut dresses and they are on SALE.....you can imagine my reaction! Here are a few of my current favorites. **Technically, the last two are the sale dresses. I just loved the green & orange dress too much not to blog about it.

Today was your birthday. You would have been 1-year-old. I have had a whole year to think about what I would write to you. The words have not come with ease. I have reflected on the last year and here are a few things I know for certain. You have two incredible parents who love you more than you will ever realize. Their love has grown to a new level and they have developed a bond only a couple who has experience something similar could understand. They take care of each other and realize the everyday uncertainties life can bring.

I am sad you won't get to know your Mom & Dad. I know you would have possessed their witty humor and easy going temperament. I am sad I won't get to teach you about fashion and take you shopping. I am sad that your grandma & grandpa won't get to take you out to their garden to plant flowers or teach you how to cook. I am sad your Uncle Zach won't get to take your senior pictures or take you to eat Pho. Most of all, I am sad we don't get the opportunity to see you turn into the remarkable woman I know you would have become.

This past year has been filled with grief, some good times and many hard times. Last night, we celebrated you with a lovely little party in your honor. We laughed a lot and for the first time in a very long time, I felt hopeful and saw all the promise the coming year has in store for our family. We miss you everyday and love you very much.

Observations & Annoyances

This post is dedicated to a few things I either need to get off my chest or things I have observed about the general public. Feel free to stop reading if you were expecting this post to be about cute summer shoes or my latest picks from Anthro.

1. People are loyal to which peanut butter they prefer. And they take it very seriously. I grew up eating Jif. As an adult, I tasted Peter Pan and have never gone back. Peter Pan is just better and you will never convince me otherwise.

2. All men hate animal print and sequins. That is a bold statement. I am well aware. I have honestly never heard a man say he likes either. In fact, they usually have a pretty concrete feeling about both, somewhat like my husband. He would prefer I not wear either. Ever, ever, ever.

3. Loud talkers on airplanes. What is with these people? Why does every person over the age of 70 feel the need to shout into their cell phones upon landing? I am really asking. There are others aboard the plane and we do not need to know your plans to eat at Chili's as soon as your ride picks you up in baggage claim. I don't know why this goes all over me, but it does. I feel like in general people don't realize how loud they talk in public. Overall, I am a fairly loud person and I seem to be able to control my volume in public. You should do me the same courtesy.

4. Dry cleaning. It's kind of gross if you think about it. It doesn't really clean your clothing. Am I wrong? Actually, to me it appears to ~~bake~~ steam in the dirt, sweat, etc. So, the next time you decide to pull out that power suit, make sure you don't sweat in it.

5. Condensed milk is weird. Plain and simple. I recently Facebooked about this and I got so many responses that went somewhat like this....."Have you been living in a hole?" "You've never tried condensed milk?" Yes, I am a 33-year-old woman who has never used condensed milk until last month. I had never seen it before, so when I opened the can my first reaction was I should call my mother, surely this has gone bad. It so thick and weird. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted.

6. NBA players are dramatic. Whew. I mean Oscar winning dramatic. I grew up watching NBA basketball with my dad and little brother. They were huge Chicago Bulls fans along with the rest of the country in the 90's. With that being said, I never remember players throwing themselves on the floor after a gentle nudge from and opposing player, like they do in present day. It is just comical.

7. This next thing pains me to write....scrunchies are back. Remember that episode of Sex in the City where Carrie gives Berger a hard time about writing in a "scrunchy wearing character" into his book? Welcome to present day 2011. The land where I see scrunchies in all the stores I love. I am appalled. What has happened?

8. Oklahomans are generally thought to be friendly and relatively "leisurely" moving people. I will agree with this statement unless in reference to driving. Holy. Cow. When the stoplight turns from red to green, if you have not moved your foot from the brake to the gas IMMEDIATELY, then you should be prepared for one or all of the following things to happen. You will be honked at (with anger), flipped off or cursed at. We all have places to be people, but I can wait the 5-10 seconds it takes your brain to register the light changing and then telling your foot to press the gas not the brake. Sheesh. Relax.

9. The wind (This one is for you Becky. But I really feel strongly about this topic). I understand we live in a windy state. Correct me if I am wrong, the last time I checked I did not live in the Panhandle. "Oklahoma! Where the wind comes sweeping down the plains" Yup, I haven't forgotten the ol' state song. However, I also never remember the wind being this out of control. Maybe I blocked it out. But when you have to check outside before you get dressed for work to see if it's a pants and ponytail kind of day or if you might chance it and wear a dress, that is too windy for my taste. In comes my next issue. My giant curly hair, which grows to double in size every single time I step out in this wind. I am either going to have to shave my head or move to a relatively windless state (thanks to Google I am told that is Oak Ridge, TN).

Attention Taylor Momsen! What on earth are you doing? Consider this your intervention. This edgy, bad girl look is getting old, and frankly hasn't been working for you for quite some time. Now that you are no longer on Gossip Girl, here are a few things to consider the next time you leave the house:

1. Pants. Simple but necessary.
2. Rethink those extensions. You are not Rapunzel. Therefore, it is ridiculous for your hair to be that long.
3. That goth eye makeup is taking the "smokey" eye to a whole new level. I just want to rub your eyes with a quality makeup remover so I can remember what you really look like.

Please. Stop. Find a cute pair of jeans, some less dramatic eye makeup and get a decent haircut.

I need someone to explain why these shoes exist. I am not sure why I am so bothered by them. Frankly, they creep me out. I saw so many people wearing them at the Arts Festival on Thursday (including a very fashionable co-worker). I just don't get it. One, do people really run in these? Two, if so why are they better than a regular, more attractive tennis shoe? GO!

The High Cost of Living

I watched this over the weekend. WOW! So good. Premiered #1 at the Tribeca Film Festival. Zach Braff knows how to pick 'em. The movie is sad but ends leaving you with hope. It really is a beautifully written story.

The Oklahoma City Art Museum showed this over the weekend. So happy StarPower (clearly we are also on the same "blogging" wavelength) suggested we go. A mixture of both of our favorites....fashion and photography. Bill is just the most endearing, funny man with a gift for seeing what others can't. Real life fashion on the streets of NYC. I teared up many times.

I saw this sweater in the store window of GAP about a month ago. I instantly loved it. I went back two days later to purchase it.....sold out. Checked both OKC stores, Tulsa and online. Clearly, I was not the only one who wanted this gem added to their wardrobe. I would wear it exactly as shown. Casual, rolled-up cargos and a soft tee. Of course, it would need to be paired with some really cute shoes to bring the whole look together.

Books Part II: The Challenge

This is a follow-up post to my blog from a few days ago. I have decided to do it. I am committing to read five books in 2011. You may think that number is a little wimpy. I call it attainable. I wanted to ease back into reading with a goal I could achieve. Lets face it, who wants to rekindle a love affair and fail miserably. Here's my line up. I have until December 31st to read all five, which I don't think should be an issue. Thanks for all the suggestions and wish me luck.

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

This was sort of a no brainer and the first book that came to mind when I decided to do this project. I have owned this book for three years. And for three years I have made excuses not to read it. It just looks boring and as much as I hate to say it.....I totally judge books by their covers. My good friend, my sister-in-law and even my grandmother have recommended it countless times so I am giving in and reading it. I hope it lives up to all the hype.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Pretty much everyone I know has read this book and loved it. It was the number one book recommended to me. People actually give me a look of horror when they learn I have not yet read it. I imagine it being the equivalent to someone saying that haven't read Water for Elephants. Everyone has read that book. So here I am...jumping on the bandwagon.

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

I think I started this book about four years ago. Life happened. We bought a house, moved and well, unpacking and decorating took over my life. This time I am reading the whole book because I remember loving what I read. Shameful admission: I am so embarrassed at having never finishing this book. That is so unlike me. I crave completion. So, what I did was just tell people I read it and loved it. You read it here first. I never finished this book.

A Widow for One Year by John Irving

My husband and Miss Marina Star both love John Irving. I decided to give it a whirl. I loved the movie The Door in the Floor (the screenplay is based on a portion of this book) so the book has to be great, right? Using the logic 'the book is always better than the movie.' How can I be disappointed.

Unbearable Lightness by Porita de Rossi

No story behind this pick. I am simply intrigued by her story and the bravery associated with sharing something so controversial and private.

Window Shopping

I'm not much of a winder shopper. Meaning, I rarely buy something I've seen on display in a store window. However, I can really appreciate a well put together retail window. Two companies that are really doing it right and stepping out of the box are J. Crew and Anthropologie. I know you aren't shocked by my second pick. I saw one of my very favorite window displays about two years ago at J. Crew. They lined the inside windows with newspaper and made small square cut outs that you could peer through to see the clothing displays. It was so original and different and I so wished I had taken a picture to post. Here are a few really great displays using common things in unusual and creative ways.

Reading is something I used to love doing. Reading made me love to write and in fact, made me a better writer. Reading for the sake of enjoyment is something I have completely stopped doing. I used to make time to sit down and enjoy a good book. I couldn't wait to get home and read whatever book I was in the middle of. Picking up a book is something I never do anymore. I'm not sure if it's because I am busier now then I have ever been. Or it is the amount of writing I do professionally that has made reading sound less desirable. Whatever it is, it's to blame for my "book funk." I could also attribute my lack of interest to having not read an absolutely amazing book in a long time. I've read some pretty good books, but nothing that left me wanting more. There is nothing better than finishing a book that leaves you thinking about it for days. Maybe I need to try Miss Marina Star's approach and set an annual goal for myself. Forcing myself back into the habit I used to love so much. Suggestions?

The King Is Dead

I previewed this album Sunday night. It left me with a smile on my face. I really love The Decemberists. I was left disappointed and mildly heartbroken when I listened to their last album and hated all but two songs. This is The Decemberists I know and love. The first song "Don't Carry It All" is my favorite. Check it out here.

The new Anthro catalog showed up in my mail today. I flipped through it and imagined freezing cold, 20 degree wind wasn't blowing in my face and instead I was wearing one of these dresses while sipping wine outside on a restaurant patio.

A New Year, A New Look

What would I do without my very own personal, live-in designer? Mixed Handbag just got a bit of a face lift. It was time. About once a year I start bugging my husband to create me something new. I am a horrible client. He always manages to deliver and I can't thank him enough for all his patience. I can think of about 50 things he would rather be doing with this Sunday.

He really hit the nail on the head with this one. You see to me the a blog header needs to describe what the intent of the blog is and convey why you blog. He incorporated all my favorite things and generally what I tend to blog about. Travel, food, music, fashion and a little of me.

I vowed to blog more frequently in 2011 and I think this is a nice start. When you are comfy in a space you have created, you tend to want to be there more often. So enjoy fellow bloggers and followers and Happy 2011!

The Story Behind Our Christmas Card

I've had quite a few people ask questions about our Christmas card this year. I decided to dedicate a blog post to the how, why, etc. First off, we owe a HUGE thank you to my father. My idea would never have been executed without his carpentry skills and incredible patience. I really do think he can build anything.

Is this Photoshopped?
No, other than resizing the photo to fit the 4x6 postcard we mailed, this is all the real deal.

We did not insert our pictures onto this backdrop. We are really standing/sitting behind this photo wall that my dad built. Those are real pictures and picture frames hanging on the front of the wall. We took the glass out of all the frames to reduce glare.

How was it built?
The photo wall is huge and was built in two panels with hinges in the middle. This was done because a.) we had to get it in our car and b.) we have to store it somewhere in our house. It hangs on two six foot wooden poles. Wallpaper took the most patience because of the odd size of the panels. My dad, with Zach's supervision, painstakingly was able to line up the pattern on the edges of the panels.

What will you do with it now?
We plan offering the photo wall as an option at weddings and events that Zach shoots. Minus our family pictures of course.

Who are the people in the photos?
1. Zach holding a pair of very old antlers we borrowed from my dad. Originally, I wanted to hang the antlers on the wall, but that just didn't work. Zach made it work.
2. Zach with Wayne Coyne. If you know Zach well, there is no explanation needed on why this made it on the wall. And yes, we did send The Coyne's a Christmas card.

It is a challenge to come up with a creative idea for cards every year. Last year I thought no one would really notice if we didn't send one. I will never make that mistake again. I realized that people appreciate the extra effort. I also learned that my husband and I work well together as a team. Even though we both try and "art direct" at times.....at the end of the day I feel good about what we created together. That may sound weird to most people but we like projects and the challenge associated with turning out something people will enjoy. So there it is. Our card. Merry Christmas, Nash Style.

I'm back. Been a while since I last blogged. I have neglected this little corner of the World Wide Web. We've been busy bees. So, here I am with a scintillating post about my new favorites from Anthro. I got my new catalog in the mail today. Yes, I will take one of everything please.

I buy myself one ornament from Anthropologie every year. This will be the one I purchase this year. For about a year, I have wanted some Russian Matryoshka Dolls (Nesting Dolls).

This was us four years ago today, at 1:oo in the afternoon. Everyone says their wedding day was perfect. Ours really was. It was one of those rare days in Oklahoma.....70's, blue skies and no wind. I truly think when you can say you found that someone who makes you better than you were, you can't ask for anything more in life. I am one of those lucky people. If I told you we are just as happy today as we were four years ago then you would know the whole story. Lover, thank you for being my husband. Even when it's hard. I wouldn't want to take this journey with anyone else.

Happy birthday to my best friend. Thank you for agreeing to marry me on your birthday. I hope four years later it was the best gift you ever received.........aside from a Canon 1D Mark IV.

I've been on a bit of a blog hiatus. I honestly didn't think anyone would notice. Apparently, I was wrong. A few of the six or seven people who read my blog were curious as to where I have been and eagerly anticipating a new entry (hate to say I don't think this one will redeem myself). I have been busy. Whew. So, here I am. Back in action.

GAP changed their logo. Kind of weird. I am just not "feeling" the new logo at all. It doesn't evoke any emotion in me. Except for maybe confusion and it's boring. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I guess I am wondering why the GAP felt the need to rebrand themselves. What do you think?

The return of frizzy hair and pimples

I've got a serious bone to pick with the beauty care industry. I've been living in deep-seated denial knowing this day would eventually come. ::::pause for effect:::: My favorite styling product and face soap have BOTH been discontinued. That's right. Why must they get rid of every product I fall in love with? I truly do not understand. I realized both were getting a little harder to find and would stockpile when I was in a store that carried them both. While in CVS this evening, I got a rude awaking. No more to be had.

Any woman will tell you she has spend countless amounts of money and time researching, sampling and testing just to find that one product that works with whatever her 'thing' is. I just happen to have two 'things'. Finicky curls and sensitive skin.

I don't want gel or mousse. I want a nice cream that is going to make my curls bouncy, non-frizzy and most importantly non-crunchy. This isn't the 80's. I really think the haircare industry thinks every woman has straight hair. Which is just a shame. We curly headed gals are a cash cow. We will drop the bucks on that one product we think will make our curls look their very best.

I've only touched on 50% of my current situation. I can't even begin to imagine what my face is going to look like at this time next month. I foresee a return to adolescence right around the corner.

You may have stopped reading this rant a few paragraphs back. Could I blame you. However, I can honestly say this is something that angers me. And my other half as well. Poor Z. First his brown, Gap flat front pant and now his favorite socks. Between the two of us we are first in line to board the bitter bus. I have literally watched my husband for all four years of our marriage mourn the discontinuation and try to replace the only pair of pants that fit him well. Laugh, but it's kind of sad. However, there is something about getting my distaste out there that almost makes me feel better. I am sure that will wear off as I am squeezing the last few drops from my product reserves.

Fall Preview

Since tomorrow is the last day of summer I thought I would share a few of my "wants/already purchased" for this fall. I am loving what is out there right now in the way of fall fashion.

I seriously cannot stop thinking about this camel leather bomber.

I wanted one faux fur piece for fall and this turned out to be affordable.

Tweed blazer. Goes with everything. Enough said.

I love this skirt. It reminds me of a picture I saw of my grandmother.
She was a very classy dresser.

I am currently on the hunt for gray nail polish. I have yet to find the perfect shade. Not too blue, not too taupe. Just a prefect charcoal gray is all I want. It has proved much more difficult than anticipated. It showed up on Who What Wear today and just intensified my need to find this polish. Before Saturday, please! And under 10 bucks. As much as I love Chanel....I am not going to pay $23 for a bottle of polish. I am no Rachel Zoe. These aren't the best photos but I love Gwyneth, love her style and her gray nails. The search continues.

How lame am I for being excited about a month that is still 3 months away. October is shaping up to be an even better month than normal! Here's why.....presented in list form.

1. I'll be spending the evening with these guys on October 4 at Brady Theater in Tulsa. If you don't own this album, you should.

2. Tickets go on sale this Friday. I almost drove off the road when Zach called me today. I was dying to see them several years ago when they played in Norman. The show was sold out and I was devastated. My mission is to get tickets this time. I will get tickets and enjoy an evening at Cain's on October 11 with some friends.

3. Zach's cousin, Cassie got engaged. To Ben. They are adorable. They asked us to shoot their wedding. And their engagement pictures. October is their month. Meaning they can have us at their disposal to go explore and find cool places to document the start of their new life together.

4. Zach and I will celebrate our FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Woot. We still like either other. Double woot. The time has flown by. That isn't meant to be some corny statement that all married couples are supposed to say. I really feel like we just got married. I am thankful everyday for this man.

5. Zach has a birthday. He turns 31 on the same day we celebrate our anniversary. Poor guy can't win or get a day all about him.

6. It will be fall. My favorite season. The weather can still be nice enough to wear shorts, but you might need a sweater at night. I love all things that resemble fall. Thanksgiving, tailgating, the leaves changing, pumpkins & mums, apple pie and all the lovely smells associated with the season.

I have Marina to thank for scoring me the sheep skin rug to complete the look. I love that thing and cannot stop touching it. I am pleased with the end result and think my living room has been successfully pulled out of its funk.

I really love this office. This woman/girl/lady has really great taste and a snazzy blog to boot. I have been wanting to incorporate a small set of antlers into our home decor and this is the look I am going for. Modern mixed with a few of rustic touches. Ever since we got married and combined households, our taste has always been very eclectic. I asked Z what he thought about the antler idea and if he thought it was too weird. Normally, a question like this is met with a response similar to this "whatever you think." This time he said, I don't think our house is weird enough. This is why I love my husband. I can never anticipate what he will say next.

I have some really amazing friends. Simply put, yes. Cliche, maybe. But when said aloud, that statement speaks volumes when I reflect on the last few weeks. I am surrounded by an incredible group of girls that get me and love me even when sometimes that is hard to do. They were right there by my side as I faced a rough patch. Listening, offering words of encouragement, lending shoulders to cry on and just plain ol' caring about what was going on in my life. When you are in college you think you have all these wonderful friends. As you get older (and wiser) you begin to realize those people are really nothing more than acquaintances. Your real friends are the ones who see you through break-ups, marriage, death and all the other stuff in between. So I dedicate this blog to the girls in my life. You know who you are. You are all so very special to me. I never take a single day I have you in my life for granted. A thank you could never really be enough. oxoxox

I literally had a pang of jealousy when I saw the picture of this perfect attic closet. I would die to have something like this. It is gorgeous!! My good friend, Sara, sent this to me. Her friend had it posted on her blog. Her friend got it from here. Sara knows my style. Imagine being able to see and store everything.......clothes, handbags, accessories, shoes, etc. all in one location. Whew! When you live in a matchbox this is something you covet and dream of one day having. I love my cozy, little, vintage home, but this is what women want! Or at least this woman.

I like this assortment of brick-a-brak (as my Aunt refers to it) on these shelves. The black and white accessories mixed with hints of color and texture are totally right up my alley. On a side note: I've learned that I am a "stuff" person. I like stuff. It is comforting. I have never been able to resist knick-knacks, trinkets or anything shiny. I would stuff our little home full of these sorts of things if my "less is more" husband would allow it.

Got a pair of Chaco's for our upcoming Italy trip. I'm not 21 anymore. Ie: I require comfort. We are going to be doing A LOT of walking. Tennis shoes (more specifically socks) just do not sound desirable in the summer months. Thus, began the search for an alternative. These are surprisingly very comfortable. Do not fear, I will not turn into one for those make-up free, granola girls. These feet will again don stilettos as soon as we return to the states.
